Nortel and OneAccess Successfully Complete Interoperability Testing for SIP-Based Voice Services
Operators and their corporate customers assured of quick and reliable SIP-based voice service
Paris, France, December 12, 2007 – OneAccess today announced that its leading enterprise class enabled CPE Range and Nortel’s Communication Server 2000 (CS 2000) are now SIP interoperable. A primary objective of the joint OneAccess and Nortel interoperability testing programme was to ensure that operators are provided with a simple and reliable solution to enable them to bring the benefits of SIP VoIP into their networks and to their corporate customers.
SIP, the standard for IP enterprise communications, is the technology of choice for the control of corporate networks, wireless networks and real-time multimedia communication sessions throughout the Internet. However, with the increasing number of enterprise class SIP-based VoIP solutions being deployed, business customers have highlighted the fact that SIP interoperability issues need to be addressed by VoIP vendors more effectively. Failure to do so is resulting in time-to-deployment delays and escalating costs.
The main benefit of the SIP interoperability of OneAccess’ CPE Range and Nortel’s CS 2000 is that it is simple and quick to install, removing time-to-deployment issues.
“Achieving SIP interoperability with Nortel, the market leader, clearly underlines our ambition to eliminate potential technology hurdles and interoperability issues so that we can further leverage the benefits of VoIP for our customers.”
