ONE10
Features and Benefits

High Quality of Service

The ONE 10 is provided with best-in-class IP Quality of Service features. They include real-time processing of high priority, delay-sensitive applications and guaranteed bandwidth for selected flows. Flows can be processed in as many classes of service as needed. Performance can be further improved with many tuning possibilities, such as fragmentation & interleaving or congestion avoidance techniques. As flows are optimally shaped, the customer can take full advantage of his ADSL uplink bandwidth. To measure the improvement brought by the IP QoS processing, embedded probe agents generate reports about network quality (transit delay, packet loss, jitter) for each class of service.

Managed Security

Companies today recognize the loss of productivity due to an uncontrolled protection of their network resources. Setting up the firewall not only blocks unauthorized data, but also protects LAN workstations from being flooded with malicious flows. To prevent such attacks, the Context Based Access Control realizes a stateful packet inspection to monitor the validity of protocol transactions. When enabling reflexive firewall rules, dynamic ports can be open only when the session is initiated from the LAN; in other words, dynamic ports are only open for legitimate requests. Information about the most recently denied flows can be logged or sent to a management system.

Many companies are willing to host their own servers (such as email, ftp, www servers). As they must be reached via a public IP address, they must not be located on the company's LAN, but rather on a dedicated network, called DMZ (DeMilitarized Zone), so that different security policies can be applied. The ONE 10 allows to reserve switch ports for server(s). As a result, intrusions on servers having security breaches is restricted to the DMZ and the LAN remains protected.

Improved Total Cost of Ownership

Service providers can streamline their operations using the industry's standard Command Line Interface (CLI): the router integrates rapidly with automated tools for configuration management and the in-house expertise is leveraged.

The router also features a web-based interface that enables quick set-up: craft persons with reduced skills can configure their router without intervention from the service provider.

When enabling configuration discovery, the router starts up with a default configuration and then download its settings. As all routers the warehouse have the same default configuration, the number of operations required for shipping a router to customer premises is thus reduced, which dramatically streamlines logistics.
